Before you try to flash it, try a master reset. Backup anything you can (try My Phone Explorer), then Master Reset the phone. Master resets can fix all sort's of niggly firmware problems (unless they are more serious or just a bug).

I don't think there is a problem with the card, otherwise you would get transfer problems via the card reader as well. It's most likely an internal software problem, which could mean a bug or simple firmware corruption.

A bug is fixed with the appropriate firmware update, if available.

Corruption is fixed by following these steps:
(you can swap steps 1 and 2 around if you like, but keep in mind a master reset wipes your phone data, SEUS doesn't; but a master reset may sometimes fix something that a SEUS flash doesn't)
1. SEUS update, and if that doesn't work
2. Master resetting, then if that doesn't work
3. Full flash of Main and FS areas of firmware

If THAT doesn't work, it's hardware

Thanks for all the replies so far. The MS I use came in a retail package from a trusted source, so I don't think it's a fake card. I could login and grab the MS checker with the serial on it, so I'm going to test that first of all.

I do not know how to master reset a W810i, if anyone could tell me how or point me in the right direction of any description here on the forums it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I don't know how to flash main and FS, this isn't done by the PC equivalent of SEUS, is it? I'd assume I need to use some flashing service - which would you recommend in that case?

As for backing up the data on the phone, My Phone Explorer refuses to back up anything that has to do with Java, so no games or apps can be saved. The only other thing I'd need a backup of are my contacts, but that can be done with the phone software > MS, so no problems there.

Edit: The MS checking program is running, it's not even halfways through the process and it claims to have found almost 2000 files to recover. That's probably more files than I've ever had on it, so it'll be exciting just to see what it claims to have found...

Edit 2: The checking finished. To my surprise the list included - seemingly - every file that currently was present on the card as well as some of the photos I deleted earlier. Does that mean this is a bad card, or is the checking software somewhat sloppy?
