Most peeps in the US use their fone for calls . . . when my cousin went here 2 years back, they were not aware that celfones in the US has an SMS feature

because mostly were chatting thru voice calls !

@701 - Yeah dude . . . I doubt if they even know that they can browse the Internet on it (celfone) pal

Mostly really rely on - CALLS !

That's a weird fact. I guess they do use PTT more than the rest of the world though, so fair enough. In Australia though, text messaging is far more common than PTT.

You're so right. In the US alot of folks still have monochromatic screens even. Embarassing. I would say aside from a couple tech savy friends with smart, Palm type phones, my W810 is by far the most advanced many have seen. They're blown away by all the features and dumb struck at how expensive my handset was.
Of all the folks I socialize with that assumed a mobile was only for calls (emergency only at that), I now have only one friend left whom has not taken to texting yet. I even tried telling once I'd cut him out of my circle of friends if he didn't get with it. Ha Ha! Love the guy however so he is still there but we just tease him alot.
