I have a bit of a dilemma now, I recieved a K750i off Ebay with supposedly just a broken screen. It actually had a W800i mainboard in it as stated in the auction, but when I tried it with another screen the damn thing's most likely blocked! I suspect the seller knew this and was a bit careful with his wording, at least I didn't pay too much for it.
I might re-list it as having a signal problem (it could well simply have a software problem), be interesting if anything's said.
One thought that occurs is that this new ruling could mean more people are dishonest - whereas before they'd list a phone as blocked or barred, so you know what you're getting, I can see there been a lot more phones listed as 'Untested, don't know if it calls in or out, no returns or refunds accepted'. This could make buying secondhand or faulty phones even more risky than before

Most stolen phones don't end up on eBay but in places like Nigeria and Ghana. Can't they find a way to ban stolen cellphones wherever there's a GSM signal?

People will just start selling them as "busted, but good case" or some other phrase that is recognisable as 'stolen'.
