the software supports all models... the list of handsets they have are ones that have an updated version of software on the system.

I just tried updating my N73 and it noticed it an told me there are no updates as of yet for it.

Worked a treat, actually slightly better system than SE, you don't need to remove the SIM, and you don't need any special drivers, the little application (similar to the SEUS) contains all the specific drivers for the phones, they simply auto install when you attach the phone. You can also keep the phone on the mains charging whilst you update (very good idea).

With SEUS despite what it says, you do not actually need to remove the SIM - they only request that as a safety precaution. Neither do you need any special drivers either - SEUS II (rather then the online version SEUS I) includes the required drivers natively.
Also if you use a CDS-60 deskstand with SEUS you can also remain connected to the mains power when updating.

Better than SE? When was the last time a software upgrade from SE resulted in the complete loss of all data?

Actually with any of the SE Symbian phones you do loose all data on the device, as you will for all Nokia Symbian devices. Since the Symbian OS uses the same flash storage as user data it will be lost as part of the update.

@masseur i dont think that list is correct,my n93 has a function called device management (like on se,lol) where i create a profile and it updates over the air (yet i dont know the settings) so n93 should be in that list imo

Was this using the new Nokia update tool or at a service centre? I don't know for sure but I would imagine a service centre would backup and restore personal data after a firmware update. I guess it is also possible the new Nokia software performs a backup and restore too.
