very true. supose the k790 will be cheaper as well so in a way its coveaniet coz if u wat the k800 but dont want to spen 260 (like i did) on it you could get the k790.

In a lot of countries, where UMTS is available, like The Netherlands, you can only buy the K800i, the K790 isn't imported officially.
The K790 is sold in countries without UMTS, so people don't have to pay for a feature, they're not able to use, which is a good thing, I think.

Simple, in the UK we only get the 3G K800I, the K790I's not even on the UK Sony Ericsson website. This is because they are trying to push 3G UMTS services and features over here.
Other country's like the US don't have 3G as such yet so they have EDGE and so the K790I. It's just market speration, one model for one country's main network requirement like EDGE and another one for another country's network requirement like 3G.
Am I right in saying that if you use EDGE you don't have as many features like TV available to you because there only available on UMTS 3G?
