Sainty's correct.
I was told on 1st Sept that ONLY the 1000 SMS (£40) allowance could be used towards data.
The lady said that she'd been asked to gauge opinion on the extras as they hadn't been 'finalised', so I made a point of my dismay towards the fact that there are NO data allowances.

Marc_SE, but I guess you can get 1000 texts very cheap now so its not amazing but still. For £30p/m you can get 200 mins and 1000 texts which is 51.1MB
