The newer K750I has had the zoom feature REMOVED on the large picture setting.
On the middle picture setting zoom is only x 2.5
You only get the full 4 x zoom on the smallest picture setting.
Seems when SE remove features they call it an upgrade!
The year old K750I I have running the latest firmware has the full 4 x zoom in all 3 picture size settings.

Digital Zoom is *completely useless* and you should only be happy that it's been removed, because it removed the possibility that you turn it on by mistake.

No idea if unlocking the phone & then flashing it with older firmware would sort it.
Newer K750's use a different camera module which doesn't have hardware support for digital zoom, that's why it doesn't support digital zoom in resolutions larger than the graphics chip can handle. You can't downgrade the firmware version beyond when a recent one where they made a major jump in "camera sw" version.
