I had k750,w800,w810 then I upgraded my phone to k800 and believe me,it is.The sound volume in hpm-70 is much lower (compared with w800,w810,k750)

Here's a thought. Could it be that SE decided to cap the voulme considering the law suite that was leveled against Apple regarding the volume of the iPod? Appearently people are too stupid to know the turn down the volume when listening to their devices. SE might just be prempting rather than being reactive. Either way, at the end of the day, it is a phone, a phone, a phone, a phone that just happens to play music and videos.

I've been listening to this very carefully for a few days, and I have to say the quality of the music player is awful.
Firstly it doesn't seem to arrange tracks in the correct order inside their albums, which is ridiculous when they've all got their track number stored correctly.
Secondly it's very clear that there is some sort of automatic gain reduction going on - there is noticable compression of the sound, with the volume being 'squeezed' when there is a high signal, and then rising again as the level reduces.
Thirdly the actual maximum volume is extremely low.
Why they've done this is open to speculation, but it's seriously annoying for what is supposed to be a high specification phone.
Here's to a firmware update asap fixing these issues.
