Umm, are you by any chance suggesting turning OFF handwriting recognition? Doesn't seem to be a wise choice, especially for a phone WITH handwriting recognition!...The M600i is a fine piece of hardware, the latest update has made everything silky smooth.

That "fine hardware" of the M600iincludes one of the most useful keyboards out there. The hardwriting recgonition, while cute, is to all intents and purposes redundant on this device, for that reason.

By the time you pull out a stylus you'd be done typing on that super keyboard. SO what is the point? Its very rarely of any value in 99% of typical usage. Keep it off unless you have a specific need. The speed trade off is well worth it.

Another trick to speed up the interface is to keep your media player open. But honestly my hums along very fast with latest firmware and handwriting off. Really. And I am one of the more critical and harsh users out there.

Hi all,
It was posted ages ago that turning off handwriting recognition if not being used increased the speed of the phone as it freed up the resources it would normally require even just running in the background. Maybe with the latest firmware it is no longer necessary but again if you are not using it might as well turn it off. I never use the Keyboard i use the stylus wheel and on screen keyboard thats the whole point of a touchscreen phone IMO. But everyone is free to use it as it fits them best.
To who ever flamed me for daring to suggest installing SwissManger firstly its free and secondly it actualy is an excellent little app that is superior to the inbuilt task manager and does aid the smooth running of your device but i am not forcing anyone to use it but am not alone in my view either. All i can say is i don't have freezes shutdowns low memory warnings or the need to restart my phone ever. But if anyone here thinks you just buy a smartphone load it up with apps and everything works with no maintenance all i can say is good luck.

I've been on a Windows PC and tried to Update the phone via the SE update service. The program said that there is no newer FW version for my M600i.

PDA Software Version: R3B01
Telefon Software Version: R4A002
Bluetooth Software Version: R3A01
CDA Version: R2A07

So what's the truth now? Is R4A002 the newest version for german/austrian M600i?

Hi 4Motion,
It appears your Network provider has not agreed to the newest available firmware you will need to speak to them as to when they will allow you access it, sorry but it may take a while.

This is because you are doing it wrong.

Steps for success:

1. Highlight the contact (s) you want to send. I have never been able to send them more than one at a time.
2. Once the contact is highlighted, right click it. A menu should drop down. It will ask where to send the contacts. Pick your device. Make sure it is paired and it will send the contact.

Another option (which I have not tried) is to export all of your contacts and then send them via BT to your phone.

Hope this helps yo.
