I don't think there are any electronics in the battery for a K750/w800. I know some batteries for other devices may have electronics but most Phone batteries don't. The electronics are all built into the phone. i.e. All the phone needs to do is probe the batteries voltage and resistance. I have pulled apart Batteries from a K508, a K300 and a Motorola L6. Not one of them had any electronics in them. They are nothing more than chemicals wrapped in insulation with electrodes inserted. So, if there is a battery bug it will be with the phone.
lithium batteries include circuitry to prevent the battery from being drained below a certain voltage (this can kill Lithium batteries so it's important they don't charge below a cetain critical voltage (only milli-volts, but if you drain it completely it will damage the battery) So lithium batteries are designed so that they can't be completely discharged. This circuitry used to be in the battery, perhaps now it is in the phone in some cases.
Note this panasonic mobile phone 650mAh lithium battery (about the size of a K750 battery) has a pcb and two chips. However I don't think I'll be pulling apart my K750 battery to find out if it has internal circuitry or not.

I know, some will start rattling off about battery not charging above 97/98%. I've noticed that. But, I have also noticed that sometimes the charge reaches 100%. I almost wonder if battery stops charging once it hits 100% and doesn't charge again until the battery drops below a certain point. The one thing I have noticed is that I am more likely to get 100% after a short charge period. Think about it - if the battery was constantly charging it would explode.
Personaly, I've never had that issue. I've never seen the phone only charge to 97%. But then I don't check my percentage - if I have full bars on the batterymeter, I consider the phone fully charged.
About charging, the phone definitely does not keep charging after the phone is charged. I know this for a fact. Check the "how to care for you battery" thread, I posted numerous information I'd studied about the issue. Anyone can do their own research if they like, but as far as I'm concerned, it is accepted by battery experts everywhere, that lithium batteries stop charging once they are full. This is how they work, and is one of the primary differences between Lithium batteries and older style batteries (they trickle charge). The other two differences are the fact a lithium battery must avoid under-voltage, and the fact they have no memory affect.

*BUT I have also noticed the following: I bought a spare battery BST-37 this one was marked R1A, the one that came with the phone was R1B. Guess what? The R1A always charges to 100%.
Check my previous post about different revisions of BST-37 batteries:

Anyway I later applied the charging patch by -the laser- and now both charge to 100%

your instinct about the charging is correct. Lithium battery chargers stop charging when battery is full, then when battery drops below a certain amount of charge the battery charger will top it up until it's fully charged, then turn off again.
You say that different batteries don't necessarily have the "bug", which would indicate it is a combination of battery/firmware that causes the problem, not firmware alone?
Personally I feel there is no charging problem as such, only a metering problem. ie: the battery meter is inconsistant in such a way that when the battery has say 10% charge, the meter indicates that the battery is flat.
It could also be that this causes the battery to be shutdown so as not to go into an under voltage condition (will damage it), when infact the battery is not at risk of under voltage - it just seems that way due to faulty metering.
When a lithium battery is shut down by electronics (on the phone or in the battery makes little difference) to avoid under-voltage, it just seems like the battery "ran out" of charge to the end user. The affect is the same of course - phone doesn't work.

I accidentaly read the thread.

)
Let's clarify this!!
i'm GxG aka George ... the one who start the thread on se-nse forum.
All was basicly an ideea! I read on other forums the_laser reply to this matter. It was a simple gdfs pach made by service cables. I wanted to know if someoane can make one pach for the DCU-60 users.
BUG: All normal phone's have battery charged 100%.
But phones with this "bug" report the battery voltage totaly wrong.
With the phone just unpluged from tension conector.... if you take 1-2 pictures, talk to the phone for 4-5 min.. notice that status on the phone tells you that your battery is 95 or 90% charged. and the graphical batery on display shows you 2-3 lines droped.
The pach corect some bits in the gdfs.. so that the software can interpret the real parameters and show the corect numbers.
P.S. .. given fact that is in phone GDFS.... DOESN'T MATTER WHAT FIRMWARE YOU HAVE

What does that "bug" do wrong with your battery. I've upgraded my w800 with that firmware too, but now my battery is better than before. Now I can listen music much longer than before. The phone always gets the 100% batt. level charged and then I keep it off the charger for almost 3 days while listening to music the most of the time. I used to charge it almost every day before upgrading. So my question is: Can that bug harm my battery and reduce it's life?

Ive done this patch to my phone and I agree with gxg. My battery life on the 1st ever k750 firmware (cant remember the name) was better than R1BC.
