My mate got two upgrades within a week from phones4u. They rang him both times and offered him them, they never found out.

Might just do that if I can't get the P990 - Stupid phones 4 you.

My brother bought a phone from them and we asked for free stuff (£45 cash back and a free memorycard) - they give these out to attract more customers. But when we asked he said no cause they only have a certain amount a day they can give away, so i told him I want to cancel the contract and get it 2moro for the free stuff, lying bastard said that it was too late so he couldn't cancel it, what a w@nk!

A colleague of mine got his K800i from P4U when it first came out. I was a bit worried about going there coz of their bad reputation, but they were doing it with a free 512mb m2 card. The guy tried to sell him insurance despite the fact that my mate told him that he would arrange it with his own work place (we also work in a phone store). The P4U guy was so desperate for the insurance sale that he said he would pay the insurance for the first two months for my mate, which he did!

How desperate???

This takes the biscuit.

Vodafone are pulling their contract offerings out of CPW and turning instead to P4U as their main supplier (outside of their own retail chain).

The reason given is that CPW would not guarantee the 35,000 new connections per month that Voda was requesting.

Huh!!!!

CPW has 600 stores nationwide with a reasonably good reputation.
P4U has 400 stores nationwide with quite a bad reputation, particularly for pushy sales.

What are Voda thinking about????

I have no doubt that P4U may achieve these figures, but it will be a case of quantity rather the quality. It will be interesting to see the return rates.

I have to disagree with some of you folks, having worked in the phone industry for over 6 years, I have worked for T-mobile, CPW and now P4U itself, we don't actually have a policy about sell whats in store, we get told at the end of the old month what to expect in the coming weeks or months on new handsets, last time i checked, we were getting the P990i on Voda and 3, we have been getting alot of exclusives for the networks and since we had landed the voda contract we have to clear most of what we have before we get the new stock.

If you guys think that CPW is not pushy, watch out in 2007 as they will be using a similar process to what we have to use. I don't disagree that some staff don't know anything, I get frustrated when my staff give false information out to customers, it is a sales rush, they want you to buy there and then, its all about targets and commision on the shop floor level.

Anyway I can say that when I last looked at the coming stock, the P990i was in that list, possibly due out at the end of the month a little later than most other places.

When i went to P4u on saturday the guy at the counter and another guy there told me the P990i had been cancelled by se in march and then started to show me tariffs for the K800i and all i did was ask if they had the P990i. Dont even know why i bothered

I'm sorry if you don't agree, but from my experience (13 years+ in the industry) a lot of the negative views expressed on the thread are very common.

I went into phones 4 u 4 another contract fone.. the man in the shop offered me 2 phone and to line rentals the same. It was good as i thought i was saving money... i get hom and call orange to activate my fone and they have told me that ive been offered the wrong phones and then wrong deals....

i then call up the shop to tell them that i will be returning my fone and thats ok as i was told on the fone....

i make my way back to the shop to find that they will not have them back off me as there i no one into autorise it .... so they can sell em but not take them bk.... the man in the shop shouted at me telling me it was not his problem...... this made me very mad that the way he was talkin to me

He then told me that if u bring the fones bk in the mornin then i will be able to get a refund i was workin at 10 and i told him that u was unable to make it there at 9 in the morning they then offerd me to take me to work.....

I then fifnish work early on that day to take the fone bk i get to the shop and they then say the systems are down.... so 2 wasted journey...

On my day ov purchase i sat in the shop for 3 hrs been conned

3 times i have been in spoke to 6 diff ppl and all have told me lies (not the truth) and spoke to me in a way that is totally unacceptable

Stay away from them....ud b a foul to go there !
