Thanks for your advise mate but I pretty sure I am running the latest version of the software. I installed the software I downloaded from Sony's website and in desparation I isntalled the version I had on disk which I think is that version anyway.

Have you ever had any other SE synch SW on your PC?

@lexy

As I said before, I did the following and the problem was solved:

- Reflashed my P990
- Format internal drive / Master Reset
- Load setting again manually

And Sync etc worked okay.

I also uninstalled Symbian Drivers and PC Suite just in case and rebooted my PC before re-installing.

@jah
the reasons i do not do master reset because i have to make back up before doing further steps, but the problem occured when i did back up through se pc suite (latest version 1.2.15). error message same as mentioned by previous post (jalf).
i have uninstalled and re-installed pc suite + symbian driver. i need to make back up in order to update the firmware.

Sorry, should have mentioned the problem was caused becuase of a previous back-up! I also had to delete all the old back files as the high number of back-ups seemed to contribute to the problem. So to summarise, I had the same problem because I was trying to back-up before reflashing and in the end I had to reflash without a back-up as the data on my P990 was corrupt (settings data as far I could tell).

EDIT: I had the same problem with my M600 this is why I think the PC Suit back-up module was responsible for corrupting settings data on my P990 and M600

hmm... seems that i have to do same way, reflash without any back-up. meaning that i should restore all settings manually after reflash.. :'(
