Hey QVGA! ur from pakiLand too... dude ur rite W900 is a yr old and it seems illogical tht in presence of a new fone i chose a one thts old...the thing is i cudnt get myself to pay 22,000 ($350) for a phone which is totally identical to my K750i except from the improved camera.....i really loved the K750i camera but i also loved the fone itself....in K790 i saw no such feature to drool over....n 2 things pissed me off big time....1st tht the Video capture sucked...n 2nd they switched to M2....! So i decided to pay a little less n buy a used but under warrantee W900 set which even in tht price had the awe factor tth K790 lacked....besides if i hv more problems with the W900 once (n only) if it gets fixed....i can sell it 2 buy a K790...im sure by christmas the K790 will be selling for half its price...as was the case wid K750 a yr ago...

Btw QVGA thnx for comforting me tht the problem is fixable...since u also live in Pakistan do u have any idea that once when our warrantee is void or period is expired how we get sets repaired? i mean there are a host of mobile repairshops in Abdullah Haroon Road Khi, but i mean professional SE service centers like there are abroad? ne clue?

the W900 also has another advantage and that is MS Pro Duo. It's much more common than the small and pathetic MS Micro. The Duo's are going for much cheaper, i can get a 1 GB for about 50-60 USD whereas I can't even find a hint of M2.

Driftmania, i dunno where u buy ur MS duos from....but here in my country a brand new original Sony MS DUO PRO 2GB is available for Rs. 2000 ($33) whereas the M2 is double the price....yes ur rite M2 was one of the major considerations i had in mind before going for the W900...

However i have to say i was quite surprised to see on these forums only tht W900 has not had a firmware update by SE since a long time? Is it true tht they have abandoned the fone? If yes then does the latest firmware version have any bugs or not? Lastly i would like to know if anyone else faced the problem i faced with my W900 (No reception problem) and whether it is easily fixable or not?

Don't worry. Just get both. Use one as a backup or sell later.

it only seems illogical but actually it's not. that scenario happened to me on september of last year, when i was deciding to get either a K750i or an S700i. the K750i, at that time, is newer and has more features, but i still went on to get the S700i. not everything that's 'old' should be disregarded in favor of the 'new'. you have to know what are your needs and get the thing that meets it.
