Sony Ericsson NL stated the P990 will not be shipped with the BST-34 when this battery type becomes available. The BST-34 will remain an optional accesoiry. This decision was made after the P990 white paper was drawn up.
Only test/review samples are shipped with a BST-34.

mine lasted less than a day, merely 14hours, extensive usage though, but still unsatisfying, not as strong as my w900, i need the extra "mah" badly

I typically need to charge mine every night. I use WiFi pretty heavily though and listen to music on my HBH-DS970 headset for a couple hours. Don't have 3G here in the States though; otherwise the phone would probably die before the end of the day! I hope the new battery comes out relatively soon. Anyone have an idea of what the price range could be? Still loving the phone!

Have placed and order with them. Their site says 3 days availability, but I know from past experience that just about anything which is not currently available is marked with 3 day availability regardless of whether the item is weeks away.
Still, the SE Store UK says October in the coming soon section for the BST-34 and they are normally very conservative with their estimates so it may arrive soon afterall.
