the phone is not without problems, but overall, it's a great phone. It's not a recommend for EVERYONE, but a great phone for young business people who want to have a little fun as well.

If we can keep the negativity going on this over-rated phone, we may be able to get one for £150 unlocked by the time the January sales roll around
Me personally. i'll keep my P910i for now. It's as stable as a rock. I'll gladly wait until the phone is a laughing stock and get one cheap as chips HeHeHe
j/k
Seriously, SE have really messed this up. A potentially great phone has been given a rather bad rep. I suspect the price will plummet in the new year.

I'm afraid I will have to agree that this has been a "BIG" disappointment. I gave up a quite reliable Palm Treo 650 for something I thought was vastly superior, and that has not been the case.
Although the sound quality of the phone is much better than most other phones, but the limited software and the bugs found in the PDA portion of this unit has caused me to really reconsider and maybe go back to the Palm. Even though their specs. aren't terribly impressive, but they are stable and with a vast amount of software to choose from.

What are you all moaning about!!! My P990i is playing full screen, 30fps high quality mp4 video right now and you're saying its not stable!?! It'll sit quite happily like this until the film ends, and then i'll still have loads of battery life to play with.
The phone has crashed once since I've had it from Orange, everyone who's moaning try doing a firmware upgrade, note that the orange ones come with the latest firmware.
My phone runs TomTom6 a dream, it's brilliant on it's higher resolution display.... all it's waiting for is a landscape version to come out from tomtom....
Everyone who's seen it, remarks how beautiful the screen, how gorgeous the blue backlit keyboard is (flip is and will stay off btw). It's chunky, like all P series phones, but the P990 oozes class, oh and it's lighter than the P900, so probably lighter than the P910 too... did I mention the keyboard is brilliant for typing too.
Did I mention the 2mp camera is the best in class?! It's awesome in all light conditions and macro mode is brilliant. Again video shooting is excellent (although not as good as certain nokias)
It's got WiFi, 3G, latest opera browser built in, landscape mode.... the specs are there for all to see and admire.
Yes the amount of free ram is poor, but I've no doubt this will be fixed in an upcoming firmware upgrade, along with a host of other fixes and speed improvements. Crucially, it's not stopped me from running ANY of the apps out there!!! Just be a tidy phone user and you'll have no problems.
The quality/number of UIQ 3 apps is very limited at the mo, but I'm excited at the prospect of many excellent UIQ2 apps being ported and the development of brand new UIQ3 apps!! This is exciting times for owners of the P990i, just have some patience damn it!
Does the speed annoy me? No because this phone is a beauty and I'm constantly admiring it, I can live with it's 'minor' flaws and appreciate it's 'massive' features.
If you're unlucky enough to have a buggy phone, send it back! Get a new one, upgrade it to the latest firmware, install SMpro.
Really can't see what all the moaning is about.

The free ram can be solved by how it utilizes the memory. Can't change the physical sizr but you can determine how hungry apps are and which should and shouldn't require as much.
firmware can sort this
