well it's all about marketing strategy to implement the K and W series to the mobile world... you could get bored if
just have the same old model of K for the next 20 years ahead
now there's rumour about the E series(E=Emotional) from
on the coming year which is on 2007
sounds cool to me

However, i´m also disappointed with the new
phones in terms of cam. Actually, all phones announced by
this year are kinda disappointing. K800 has more pixels but the picts dont look that good, the sound quality is WORSE than w80/w810, there are lots of threads about this already, worse headphones, slower menu, multitasking but still the same old java playing and etc. W850 has better media player but the cam is worse than on w800/w810 and who wants to downgrade?? W950 doest even have a cam. P990 was already outdated as a top notch model before it even came out and etc. Just disappointments. Nokia made the best mobs this year, by far.

nokia released a lot of models this year that were decent.. the n80 was a stinker.. the e61 was the star IMO.
SE has decided to split up walkman and cybershot...that's marketing and business nothing you can do about it...
but i think k800 pics are definietley not worse then the k750i/w800/w810 so i'm not sure what you're talking about

k800 has the same sound as the walkman phones ..and the player is the same to the walkman 1.0, but it does not have the W and the orange color..I KNOW IT IS mrketing...but I think that Walkman Branded Phones should have a big difference in sound with the K series....For example I privilege music rather than the cam but I bought K790 becaus no sound difference an the camera is awsome....and until the walkman phones dont add the normal port for headphones ...and have more storage capacity....they will never beat iPods
Btw, I am not saying walkman phones are bad!!!!!

I think the point with the brand walkman phones is keeping the walkman phone alive and making it much more popular over the world. So I think SE are trying to replace the MP3 players and portable music devices with the mobile phones, and they made phones adapted for music. And it is better to have everything inyour phone (camera, mp3 player, internet access, gaming, messaging, phone and etc) than to carry all those devices (phone, camera, mp3 player and etc) with yourself.
