^ Crap...!
Saddam will 'eventually' get what he deserves, slowly but surely. Only problem now is that we and the Iraq' forces can expect an increased amount of trouble from his supporters. Good for the majority of Iraq's though, they seem ecstatic from this relief.

Agreed, hanging is far too light a punishment. At risk of sounding like a complete sicko, I'd rather he suffered for the rest of his living life for what he's done.

Yes, there is the danger that he would become a target to be broken out of jail or returned to power, but if he was kept it in jail in another country there'd be less of a risk.
imho death is what he was hoping for, a quick and easy way out for him, rather than rotting in jail for the rest of his miserable life.
