Don't get it, all email accounts have been working flawlessly on my device??

@samarik

1. Hotmail

You have to subscribe to their premium service

You could try a J2me application called Hotviewer, i haven't tried it myself but you can get the trial version here:

http://www.my-symbian.com/s60[....]ications.php?fldAuto=586&faq=6

2. Yahoo

You have to subscribe to their premium service, it's charged of course.

3.Gmail

The wonderful people at Goggle are providing pop access for free!!!!

There are two ways you can access gmail

a) Pop access:

quoted from @animator:

" incoming server: pop.gmail.com
username: name
password:your password
outgoing server:smtp.gmail.com

"Advanced"

encryption: both checked on SSL
outgoing username
password: as above
incoming port: 995
outgoing port: 465 "

b) Gmail application

You can also download the gmail application by phone's browser to

gmail.com/app

Hope this helps

Thanks for the guidance.

What internet account are you using on your phone. I have created a Vodafone Live GPRS account that points to the vodafone servers at 212.183.xxx.012.

Are you UK based?

About to go try Gmail.

@tsh

I have exactly the same problem as you. I've tried to get O2 to sort it but they keep sending me to Carphone Warehouse. I also have trouble connecting to Mobical over GPRS but it works flawlessly on WLAN. It has to be something in the provider settings blocking it. I read on another forum that some providers blocked SyncML, maybe they block POP3 if it's not to their mail account?

I have jsut tried to log in to the gmail via the web browser and my phone has returned an endless stream of irlisten kern-exec errors. The only way to recover was to switch off and start again.

I got to the put my password in and select sign in and web crashed and the phone becomes a Chritmas tree of flashing warmings.

Pretty ropey dstuff this P990. I am very very disappointed after havng such high expectations. I bought HP first attempt at a wifi/gprs phone and got bitten in the same way.

No email - no reliable web. My video phoning froze the phoen completely.
