In the US it is not even listed on the SE site. But you can buy it online here:

My friend works for a leading cellular network in South Africa, and is very good friends with an SE rep. According to them there was a global shortage on the phone. When i say global, I mean GLOBAL. I managed to get mine as soon as it hit the stores here in SA. The day I went to pick up my phone, every second customer that came in, asked for the w900i.
According to the SE rep SE could not not keep up with demand, and there was a shortage of components used to manufacture the phone. I think that, coupled with the fact that Vodafone greedily aquired exclusivity rights to the phone, it led to it being discontinued in certain countries. In South Africa, there was a 3 month waiting period for the phone. I'm just glad I got mine
Sad to say, many of my friends who were obsessed with getting the W900i, eventaully got tired of waiting and defected to Nokia's N80.

@LikeNoOther
Thanks for that info. It would seem there is a shortage after all - caused by lack of components.
What colour is your w900i?

SA discontinued the phone in March this year already!

It surprises me that this phone can still fetch £200+ on eBay over a year after it was announced.

Its essentially still a very good phone, and in my opinion is better than the W850i/K800i. Its design is fabulous, fantastic screen and amazing video. Also it aint a phone you see evry tom dick and harry with

Hi goldenface,
I'm a proud owner of a black W900i.
At first I was dying for the white one. But Vodafone in SA only imported the black ones. But believe it or not, I rather fancy my black W900i even more now, due to the fact that every time I answer my phone in a public place, people are all confused about what phone/gadget/ device i'm using... lol
And I love to keep them geussing!

try the w850i its virtually the same but not as bulky
Sorry, but I beg to differ. The W900i is on another league all together. The W850i's clarity does not come even close to W900i. Also the W850i does not have a graphics accelerator like the W900i. Also, W850i does not have auto-focus.
BTW before I get bashed up about how the graphics accelerator is "not really used", I say, see it for yourselves before you comment. My youtube vids that are on my phone, are super smooth, thanks to the Nvidia chip.
