I have a rating of 651 and this is potentially the first problem I've had where I'm going to lose money, had a couple of people who I paid for good which I then didn't recieve, but got all my money back off Paypal on those occasions.

It's how Paypal's seller protection rules work, from what I can gather despite my good feedback, and the fact this other git's had a few negs and is also banned from ebay, it could be as i shipped to that unconfirmed address i will lose my money.

As I say, I'm a bit pissed about that!

I have a friend who got so fed up with ebay he quit his business selling on there. He had the same problem and ebay doesn't seem to care to do anything about it. I have a "zero" rating on ebay and I've been a member for about 6 years. I've just never won an auction because I'm not stupid enough to pay more than "new" retail for an item I can't see before purchase. Plus, I've never found anything that was really a better deal than I could get locally or from a reputable online retailer.

I also have a verified PayPal account so it kind of stinks that if I ever DID want something on ebay, I would have a hard time getting it (because of my low feedback rating). Heck, I've only ever had "1" ebayer actually reply to an inquiry I sent about an item listed.

It does seem that the scams, idiots and morons on ebay are getting more common sadly, Ebay needs to do something about the situation and quickly as it will be driving business away from them if they're not careful

I'm curious how you end up losing money a couple months down the road after selling an item. Does the buyer claim something faultly about the purchase and then Paypal takes a refund out of your bank account? How long after a sale is it then safe to assume the payment is yours to keep? I've never sold before but have a rare Sid Dickens tile that would expect to fetch upwards of $1000 but the thought that for some reason Paypal might be able to reverse a transaction after I may have spent that money would screw me up terribly.

In my case they're claiming their credit card was used 'fraudulently', which they most probably are not, which is why this is happening to me.

This is exploiting probably the fact i shipped to that unconfirmed address, increasing their chances of success!

Why don't you all just go into ur settings and tick block zero rating bidders??? I complained to eBay ages ago after I got ripped of also some idiots kept bidding on my items at ott bids eBay sent me a link and ive had nobody with a 0 feedback bid on my item, even if they dont have a paypal account they can bid cos eBay blocks that on my account to! .. Im sceptical bout sending cheques after winning a Tombraider PSP game months ago the guy got my cheque cashed it and quit eBay I never recieved that game :-(
