Then yes, you highlight the tracks you want and drag them onto your iPod on the left nav bar.

Restored the ipod, then i started out again, now it automatically puts songs on the ipod once i put them in the itunes libary, but i dont want it putting all the sounds on my computer auttomatically in to the libary like last time other wise when i plug my ipod in they will all be put on there.

It hasnt happened yet will it? is there a way to prevent it.
thanks

When you first installed and ran iTunes, it would've asked you if you wanted it to search your computer for MP3/audio files. You must've said "Yes".

iTunes did as you told it. It added all MP3 files to its Library. Although it is a very clever program, iTunes can't tell which MP3s are music files, and which are game sounds etc.

You shouldn't have told it to automatically find all MP3's on your computer, if you didn't want it to do just that.

Presumably, you have your music collection stored somewhere, hopefully neatly in one folder, on your computer. This music folder is the one you should add to iTunes.

iTunes will, if you ask it to, organise your existing music folder for you, and automatically organise any new music files you drag into the Library window.
