No joy I'm afraid. There's no extra options listed under the transfer, just phone speaker. I'm presuming that's because it isn't detecting the kit properly.
I do have control of the music with the buttons though, I can change the volume and pause the track, just not the actual audio side.
@marran
I've gone and ordered the HPM-70, ebay had them for £6 inc shipping.
I did it before seeing your email, but to be honest, they sound a little too expensive for what they offer.

I'm using the HPM-82 on my P990i at the moment, they are great but occasionally the remote stops responding, as in you can't change track, change the volume. The other downside to these headphones are the rubber plugs for them. I've lost two pairs so far and had to buy new ones. They also get dirty, i.e ear wax, no matter how clean your ears are.

They are quite expensive indeed.
@willo
The HPM-85 does come with the remotecontrol.

The
page doesn't list the P990i in the compatible phones list. Anyone tried the HPM-85 with this phone and can confirm that the remote is fully functional?
Which model of Sony earphones is the HPM-85 based on? Looks very similar to the Sony MDR-V150, except that the V150 is black while this model is silver. And the price! HPM-85 is more than twice as expensive.

HPM-64 which also has a 3.5mm jack actually has P990 and M600 listed as compatible. Doesn't seem to have a remote, though. Guess the remote ones are restricted to

phones. Although, since it has been reported in this thread that the remote works but not the ear plugs, it's quite an odd restriction...

But this page :
http://www.se-store.co.uk/ind[....]ccessory.detail&productId=1089
says the HPM-85 is compatible with the P990i. Earlier in this thread, somebody said the HPM-82 was compatible with the P990i - the HPM-85 looks like the same cable/remote with a differed set of headphones?

I found a HPM-70 at home (from my missus' phone) and it works a treat. The button cycles through radio stations (pre-set ones), I've not tried it with MP3's as of yet though, nor calls, but I'm not a fan of hands free talking any way.
Also, the HPM-80 I tried didn't work on a W800, which suprised me, leading me to belive that it might be duff.
Anyway, I'm happy with the HPM-70 for the time being.
