My P990 is going down the bin....

Using active sync (email, calendar, contacts), Tomtom and not so much more

- Battery is an embarrassment (ordered BST34 but still not in sight)
- Poor ram makes it annoyingly slow between menus
- Complicated menus (UIQ), too many clicks (can now compare with WM5)
- I have to keep using Swiss mgr to be able to open new applications.
- Keylock unlocks because of very sensitive button
- It doesn’t shut down properly, very embarrassing when flying
- Last thing I just experienced is that calendar alarm is on when phone is off but charging
- Its bulky (compare to Samsung SGH-i320 f.ex)
- When flip-off, phone is useless

It’s a shame SE’s flagship isn’t better, and

Changed to a Samsung SGH-I320 (WM5), fantastically slim machine and functionality outstanding, active sync also works a lot better and faster as no 3rd party software is needed.

It might just be my problem, but the fact is that I have not seen any mobile phones like P990i which receives both "excellent" and "worst" ratings from many different users across different forums~ What I mean is that, they are being too radical......

I dig a lot of forums for users' reviews~ Sometimes I get P990i as a brilliant device on one post and see it as piece of junk on the other~ I have never been in this difficult situation to actually "guess" how good or bad the phone could be~ That's right~ P990i could be the kind of device that is externally fit but internally ill~ It is just a matter of software deficiency rather than hardware capabilities~

Agree?

It depend on the FW

R3A: Worst
R7A: Exellent

P990i was so bugged when it was launched, but I like the new FW. It's still bugged, but now is it almost bug-free (at least my phone!). I look forward to R9A, and believe that it will make the P990i perfect

As people has said before me, it's a hard questin to answer! But if I had only the two options, worst or exellent, then I would chose exellent. But it's not exellent. Still bugs. But when they are fixed, then I will say it's perfect. I don't have any problems with the battery, just bugs.

About FW update:
If you have an old FW and it's working, don't update! You may get new bugs in newer FWs. Remember, that it's no reason to fix whats working! But if you have problems, of course you should update!

Well i have had my P990i for about 3 weeks now after going back to symbian having been a WM5 user for some considerable time. I love my phone. Great screen, nice graphics, switching on and off is real cool as that symbol is animated and you feel like you are holding a really good phone. Sound quality is excellent. not tried video calling yet. Not many of my friends have video calling yet !! Ho Hum. My complaints are:

- No inbuilt MSN Messenger/Yahoo facility, this should be standard in smartphones these days.
- No case in the box that came with the phone. I think that was somewhat mean of
- No complimentary screen protector in box or a cloth to clean the screen with.

Little details like that could make a great impression !!

Overall though i love my phone !!
