right guys, this is obviously a branded phone, though it is not very branded. any phone you buy from an operator (unless they're extremely kind!) will be branded in some way, and this will be one of the ways. YES it is possible for the sim card to do this. it's just the same kind of setting that the older phones had to introduce menus from the sim card. anyway...are you meaning that this phone is infact unlocked? as in you can use another sim card from a different operator in it? if so...try it. see if you get a different result from using the different sim card.
