The trick with the battery cover is to press down hard on the middle of the cover.

The latest FW for w950i is
* Phone: CXC162037 R9DA001
* Bluetooth: CXC162058 R3A01
* Organiser: CXC162088 R1E01
* CDA: CDA162017/18 R1A12

I put 3 tapes on the back cover, then pulled it off using the tapes. works for me.

Hmm cant seem to get it work though. Im going back to the shop and hope they will be able to get it off for me.

Pressing hard in the middle of the battery cover and then trying to slide it off doesnt seem to work either. Really annoying..

The back comes off ok on mine, although it's a prototype and may be different from production phones. I'm not keen on the sim card storage on this and the M600 though, a bit fiddly to remove them.

I went to several telecom shops today and none where able to open it. After that i contacted Sony Ericsson support and they told me to go back to the shop i purchased it and ask them to open it. If they couldnt they had to give me a new phone (14 days trade warranty). When i got in that shop the man opened it in 1 second . It turned out the mechanisme was jammed. Now i can open it myself but its still a bit hard.

jZip doesn't work on the W950i, only the P990i and M600i. The W950i doesn't run the right version of Java.

i got the same firmware.

Mr. Nash

don't know why wouldn't this battery cover just slide off. i'm still impressed with the build quality though, almost everyone i know is.

im still finding it weird that my transitions wouldn't work properly. if i have a video open on the background it doesn't work, but when its off it DOES work, only i get a slight lighting of the screen.

expample is when i use the twilight theme, it goes to a greenish hue.

Can W950 users provide feedback on the following-

Does the walkman button on the front the phone opposite the "C" make any sound when pressed? I have my buttons & screen set to click but the walkman button is the only key that remains silent when pressed.

Thanks.
