Well we might have done, its does look like that is the problem, i will still try to take the battery out over night and put in a cool place. If that doesn't work i am stuck.

Take it to a service centre and let them clean the inside of the camera for you.

everyone knows that hot/cold variations make objects to contract/expand.
try putting your phone to extreme cold/heat so the lens contracts/expands and maybe the dust particle will migrate to a corner of the photo. lol. )))

i had the same thing on my k750! in the same place, and about the same sized dot. It just dissapeared after a few days, and i was absolutely sure that there was no dust on the lens. it was weird. I'm sure theres another thread covering this somewhere on esato...

I got the same thing on my K750.... weird!!

I was taking some pics to a minidisc player that I wanted to sell on ebay and I discovered those weird spots...

*Front

*Back

Then, looking carefully at other pics I've taken I realised the spot is also there. But the lens doesn't seem to be dirty... I'm gonna try rrojas technique to see if I can get it to disappear. I'll post my results later.

be careful heating and cooling your phone repeatedly! it can cause condensation to build up inside, and cause water damage (not covered by warranty) i know this from experience...

It could be dust or some other contaminant on the other side of the lens, i.e. within the camera unit itself. This would be very very hard to get out, as it would involve taking the phone and then the camera unit apart itself, if it is that that's causing the spots.

Right, well i tried to take the battery out and leave overnight in a cool place and it didn't work. So i am guessing it is the dust. I noticed other people have it as well. If anyone comes up with the solution please tell us because its really annoying me now. I took my w800 apart all the time without a care in the world, but if i have to take my p990 apart i will be sh*ting myself just incase i do something wrong. Or i could take it to a phone shop and see what they say, i am going to like service centre sometime this week i will ask them.
Cheers Harvey

It could be that the camera unit itself needs replacing if it is dust, that would probably be the easier option tbh.

Though if the phone's under warranty I'd take it up with them and get it done for free, though it'll mean you'd be without your phone for a short while.
