use swiss manager, then store file uder C:\\system folder (like that..... exactly don't remember). and these file won't show with picture browser or file manager. you need to view these file again with swiss manager.

use the java app "file protect" which can encrypt individual files. This doesn'thide them, but means they can't be opened. In the gallery or file manager, all you see is an icon where you would normally see the thumbnail.

why do u need to hide files ???
You might let your wife, girlfriend, or other people use and play with your phone : and you don't necessary need them to see everything which is in.
Does it make sense to you ?

Or.... you have played with your wife or girlfriend and don't necessarily want other people to see everything

Yes, Advanced File Lock is great, you can select from the entire list of phone features, to lock them down. For example, in case 'someone' wants to install something in your phone... you could lock down the installer...and voila, nothing can be installed or deleted!
Another great thing is HandyTool or HandySafe respectively. With HandySafe you can store all kinds of data and contacts, pictures, etc. and its all encrypted and locked down!
Regards
PS
To all the people that continue to ask, WHY would one do or need that: How many of you mail a letter instead of a postcard? Anything to hide?
