i had 5 of those - the proper way with water and sugar when i went on a field trip with uni to barcelona...... and omg was i in a right state... it turned out the whole of my course got pictures of me passed out on the floor with my head hanging in a toilet in nothing but my boxers
also others who where drinking it that night were doing some crazy stuff like jumping into huge wheely bins from silly heights..... (like out of there appartmment window)
that stuff seriously aint to be taken as a joke... its leathal stuff..... a bit like irish poteen:

thats just as bad although the absyinthe is probably worse when mixed with sugar and water as it does something to the alcohol... anyway this is what you do:
'Pour a shot of Absinthe in a small tumbler. Take a teaspoon of sugar. Dip the teaspoon into the absinthe so that the sugar absorbs the liquor. Then, holding the spoon above the absinthe, set light to the sugar. Let it burn for a minute or so. The sugar will bubble and begin to caramelise. Once the flame is beginning to die down, stir the shot of absinthe with the sugared spoon (smothering the glass if it catches alight). Now add an equal measure of water and some ice if required.'

the idea of the sugar is so that the alcohol gets straight to your blood stream..
5 of them? with sugar you nutter.. i've done a good 7/8 before but thats without the sugar..
@ ridahz. be careful matey, as i said its anywhere from 70% to 90% alcohol and your body isnt going to be used to it.. if your going to buy some may i suggest you get the la fee one from tescos.. its the 70% from what i remember and its a good a place as any to start with.
oh and drink it sensibly.. it can kill you.

i see that irish stuff can be 90% vol too.. i wonder how close you can get to 100% without it killing you?
a rectified spirit can be 96%
seems to be a very fine line.. you get to like 50% with vodka etc and then you scoot straight up to 90% with absinthe and the irish doodar.. next stop is 96% with the retified spirits..
shame theres not more about the 70% mark.. id prolly be an alchie is there was though...
so much for choice hey?
you had any of the irish stuff leeboy? i'd be keen to try some but not if the taste isnt all that!

i had some polish vodka and vodka revolution before wihihcwas between 70-80% by vol....... tasted aweful tho....
