Brownie, You obviously haven't spent any time using vista, in fact it sounds like none at all. Thats why im going to tell you this. Saying you think a piece of software like vista is ok. Saying it with out any reason is not ok. Vista has excellent application and driver support at this time. Sony ericssons choice of not supporting vista right now is simply due to the userbase numbers right now. This is rare in vista support. They know they have to port it sometime but its a matter of them buying their time. And brownie, putting an applictaition into windows xp srvpk 2 compatability mode is in the applications properties. The .exe file.

I wasn't able to get to work SEUS under Vista (JAVA not found) nor PC Suite, with or without compatibility mode.

I have to agree with tretal on this one, I really don't get why people are saying Vista is so terrible. Maybe if you install it on an old system it may be but on my new Laptop it is both fast and stable. I installed Nokia PC Suite as it was on my XP Laptop it installed all the drivers for it's many functions. I should add the very same drivers it installed on XP and everything works as it should. I have to install my printer soon maybe that won't work but so far what you are saying is just not backed up by my experience, also my Sony USB mouse installed and found the drivers with no problem at all and it's a Toshiba Laptop.

I've tried running the pc suite app in xp SP2 compatibility mode but it comes up with an error "this application is not suitable for this operating system.
Any ideas?

Agreed with too, I had Vista Ultimate Beta running fine. All my hardware was ok with Beta drivers from Creative and Nvidia, everything else Vista picked up but I didn't have my P990I then so didn't test that. Even Lexmark have Vista drivers now for my crappy cheapo printer from Tescos'!!

Ive been running vista on both my laptop and pc since launch day and although i had problems with my printer and soundcard that was all. Ive used xp drivers to install things with no problems and the driver support for vista is actually quite good. The nokia software works with vista so its just se that are behind the times on this one.
