@Guy H
I have what sounds like the very same problem, with the addition of a lot (50%+) of calls being 'missed', despite the phone being in solid 5-bar coverage.
I'm on Orange, and when I talked to Customer Service, they told me to turn off 3G. Since then, I've instantly had *no* late sending/arrival of texts or 'missed' calls. I've also had no 3G, which is what I'm now following up with Orange about.
Try turning off 3G, see if that's the problem, then you have some better information for talking to Voodoofone about.

Hi there, my advice is: Format the internal disk and DO NOT restore any backup. Just save your media files, contacts and agenda ONLY to memorystick and delete all aplication instaled and aplications files on the memorystick. Then install all manualy again. If the problem still continue go to a service center. hope this helps

i have a similar problem which could be related.
i'm also on voda P990 with original firmware (waiting for a 'final' release before i bother updating).
my problem is that when someone sends me a text during the night when my phone is switched off, the text never comes through when i switch back on. i never recieve it and it's lost forever.
voda reckon they have not logged any undelivered messages, which suggests that as far as the network is concerned, they were delivered.
very strange.

Well now is my phone that have this problem too! lol I was expecting some messages from a friend and they only came when i reboot the phone. It happened 2 or 3 times since a couple of days. Dont know what probabaly cause this. It only can be one of the 3 aplications i had instaled or a theme because i didnt done anything else. Gonna have to format the internal disk and see if it doesnt happen anymore :s
