"This was a bad flash. Erase all SEUS stuff from your PC, reinstall it and reflash. It happened to me and it worked this way."

Well I found out there my local Sony Ericsson distributor is. So I dropped off the phone and I am hoping that they can fix the bloody thing. If not I am gonna scream.

So on till I get the phone back I wont have any new information for any one.

I want to thank all of ya for your help.

I know that you have returned it, but did you try to remove the battery , sim and memory card, and then retry with another sim, to get a fresh first boot..? Just asking because, thats how i'we revived several Symbians and other SE phones..

Ok latest in my on going saga with my P990i.

I took the phone yesterday to the sony ericsson representative here in Cyprus. They called me up this morning to tell me because I bought my phone in Saudi Arabia and therefore was not in their data base, they couldn't do any thing for me. I got so pissed off at them for that, its like what the hell so I asked the person behind the desk that if i bring a erisson from any where in the world they cant work on it. Their answer was basically yes.

I really really hate this bloody phone, soon as I fix this I am gonna sell it, and buy a Nokia or a i-mate.

I have had every one of the P series, but this is gonna be the last one.

This service guys are really idiots! Why don't you try what I told you, erase SEUS from the PC, re-download and re-install it and do a new update! The constant restarting symptom is the result of incomplete firmware uploading and/or flashing. You can do this with or without the SIM, the phone doesn't care. The "remove SIM" thing is just to relieve SE from any responsability...

Well I tried what you suggested and its the same thing.

One question should the phone be vibrating when its updating?

Cause thats what mine dose after i hold down the C button, also do you think i should try try downloading the update software from some where else then the U.S site?

I really dont know what to do, is their any general European email or number I can call about this. I am site of trying the British site and techs and the Greek ones are bloody crap.

So any one?

No, it shouldn't vibrate. The "hold C" sequence is to avoid the normal start in wich the phone vibrates for a second. You must follow the instructions and after choosing the right connector keep C pressed, insert the plug while keeping C pressed and do not depress it until the onscreen instructions (on the PC screen of course) tell you to do so.
It doesn't matter where you get SEUS from, I choose the UK site usually.

Well I did again late last night before going to bed and I used the SEUS from the British site. Plus this time it didn't continuously vibrate when I was updating however it still didn't make any difference. I am wondering if the solid state memory chip is buggered. I am really at a lose to explain why.

I just don't know any more.

Hi how long ago did you inform sony and when did they update it?

Because when the last post that I made was right after I downloaded the updating software.

So are you suggesting that I try it again from the umpteenth number of times.

If nothing comes of this I am thinking of shipping it to a friend who lives in Bahrain to see if his sony ericsson center out their can do some thing with it since I bought it in Saudi.

We will see i will keep every one posted.

Thanks again to every one for their help.
