Maybe i am just feeling bad this morning but this P990i thing is getting insane.. I have seen a lot of you complaining about video playback problem when increasing volume in full screen mode. I also have that problem mostly with non-original themes, but sometimes with e.g. bluelines as well. So this is what i would like to know.. Before releasing a new FW.. is there nobody at SE to play with the phone and try some things out and test if everything works well? I am sure that videoplayback is one of the features that needs to be tested with every new FW to come out. If not else it should be tested if movies are opened faster. Maybe i am dreaming and halucinating but i think that SE is not serious anymore. I am sure that they cant make P990i faster over night, but how much time do they need? And all these things are well known to people buying new phones so you are unable to sell your P990 for a reasonable price. You are losing your money big time. I just hope that in next FW SE actually runs some real tests before releases it to the masses and that new FW will really do something.

What would be the need for WM2005.

@AbuBasim

Like Masseur and Resident, I too am curious as to why you "need" WM5?

If you've hardly had any problems as you exclaimed a few weeks back (with the old FW as well), why would you 'downgrade' to a lesser featured phone and a lesser valued phone, so you lose money too?

intelegent115, there are also lots of people that donīt have problems with changing sound on videos...i watch videos every night, before sleeping, and that is a non-issue, i set the volume normaly...of course, if i use the jogwheel up and down like maniac, like i did for a test, it will hang...but i neve do that, so i watch great quality video, better with the new fw...so, this is hardly a bug, if wanted to blame SE for anything, would be for not letting us turn off the transitions

In my case I enjoy my P990 from the very first day. I had P900 and P910 for a long time with a lot of applications (even Argus remote for video surveillance) and I loved those phones. But very first touch of my P990 made me forget about them, it's a completely new level, uncomparable. Video experience is amazing, I am watching full DVD movies like anything. Thanks to wifi, full support internet with downloading, querty and brilliant screen that allows landscape mode I now avoid my PC on the regular basis. Camera is now always with me etc, etc. I even don't have the latest fw yet but am extremely satisfied P990 user. According to my experience I don't think you made the right decision.
p.s.The new SMpro version definetely reduces memory leak which is IMO the no1 problem with this phone.

@londonlad123:

I'm not sure I would agree with lesser featured phone. Sure, there are a couple of features missing on the JASJAM: RSS reader, RDS FM Radio. But the camera was a positive surprise. Tweak the sharpness and you get pictures of quality pretty close to what you can expect from the P990i.

My main reason for changing was WM5 versus UIQ3. The phone I had before P990i was an i-mate JAMin. I got hooked on WM5 and I find it easier to use.
If my first smartphone would have been the P990i then I would probably kept it.

Maybe you haven't noticed my sig:

One feature currently not available on the P990i voice recording of phone calls. I just tried LivePVR on my JASJAM and it is working fine!

Agree with AbuBasim

All you guys who complain about WM5, pls give me a list of problem, I cant find one, on the other hand I can give you a list of 5-10 serious issues with P990/UIQ, and if you read through all the threads you'll find another 100 or so..

I find WM5 more userfriendly, logic menues etc but thats very subjective.

Dont really care what phone/operating system I have, it impressed me just to slide in the SIM-card in my Samsung and it all worked out, with P990 its been one long headake, and still with new FM it hangs, restarts, not enough memory etc etc - its a pitty, P990 could (& should) be so much more

@AbuBasim

Many P990 owners here would die to have theirs run like yours, so I was surprised you got rid of it. So you swapped it for the UI. I said its a lesser phone based on you first post saying the P990 is better featured than all WM5 phones. I actually agree with masseur and say the TyTN is at least as good if not better.
