Well, when I live in Sydney you can find all sort of thing in chinatown. Like PS2 hack to play copy games, etc. So I think phone shop in chinatown Montreal might be able to help you (newest kulan client today seems still can't update EROM CID51). I am not sure if SEtool3 can but who knows. Just make sure you took out the memory card and SIM card for your protection. They might be able to do it while you are waiting. I could be wrong but it worth a try. Good luck. If not, SE authorised service centre may help.
Keep in mind that I never live in Montreal so I don't know for sure.
