Hm, my K800i I bought on August 2006 is now full of scratches on the screen--despite my having a cheap screen guard on it, on the lens cover, on the rubber housing of the battery and horrible joystick when running Opera Mini or games. I simply don't care. Just leave those ugly looks as they are. Just enjoy the phone no matter how bad they look. Yet, I have a good handstrap to make it impossible to fall down.

I had not dropped or scratched my old K700 for months, had my new w810, and a few weeks later it falls out of my pocket, bumps around on a tile floor. Pure horror. Heartbeating, sweating, need something to drink, but it looked ok at first sight and I did not want to reveal this pathetic fear of a scratch to the people around - had to wait an hour to do a full examination.
It seemed to have huge damage but after brushing off dust there's a minor scratch you hardly can see. On the screen there's a mini scratch - half a millimeter - that for me is a HUGE, deep impact, blocking the view, distracting. Other people that I tell about the ruined screen look at me, bewildered, thinking I'm crazy, they don't see anything.

And indeed, that first tiny little scratch, it is something special. Probably because we value those things so much - too much - and we like the looks that much so we don't put it in a protective case.

ARGH! i hate it even more when you find a scratch hours after accessing what you thought was all of the damage! (tiny scuffs on * and # keys) unnoticeable except to me, so whenever i make a space while textng, i feel pain lol

Yeah, although i dont really drop my phones just must be lucky i recently fitted a white an red housing on my N73, cost a fair bit but after a day i noticed i had somehow cracked the screen on the fascia, started as a small crack on the left of the screen but as each day went by it got bigger

So had to order a new white front fascia

Looks good as new now though

i've got a crystal case for my k750i and the molding marks inside the case have scratched the side of my phone.

I think cases make phones look ugly too. I just use a belt holster and use the phone naked with not even a strap attached.
