I just tried waiting 15 minutes on the "Update your phone" screen (i.e. the screen I'm always kicked back to), but it's still a no go for me as it just sits there.

What a bummer...

Just tried it myself with no luck -- put my computer on the DMZ -- turned off the windows firewall -- still nothing

Update: Sony Ericsson's reply to the problem. Still didn't work --

Regards to your e-mail, please ensure that you have the firewall, popup block, and anti-virus disabled on the PC as they can interfere with the Sony Ericsson software update.

never disable your firewall if you're connected to the internet. (at least unless you've got a firewall in your router). That's really dumb advice from SE.

Hi i'm trying to update my P990 and everytime i run the updater i get the message 'java.lang.reflect.invocationtarget expception' displayed in a fatal error box. Have updated the latest SE file manager bits and latest java stuff, but no joy, anyone any ideas?

Service centre. And take your proof of purchase.
