im hoping so (a few 'extras' anyway - maybe a couple of months free line rental) but they already, very reluctantly, gave me what appears to of been quite a good deal when i upgraded. well, it should be back in the shop tomorrow (monday) so i will speak with the head honcho there whne i collect it, and if he cant do anything for me i will have to take it to the next level up.
just have to wait and see what happens...

arrrggghhh!
now i am ever-so slightly angry. got a text this morning saying that i have got to return the loan phone at he earliest opportunity. about 10mins later i got another saying my phone was at the shop. surely it would be better to tell me my phone is ready for collection before askingn for the loan phone back. this aggravaged me a little.
went into the shop and was told "because pf the crack in the screen, some of the liquid had leaked into the phone and got on the board inside. for this reason they have replaced your handset". sorry, what!? it has taken 2 weeks to decide that the liquid has leaked into the phone and you are going to supply a replacement handset? surely this could of been identified upon first inspection of the phone, ie when the case was taken off. i was then asked to sign a piece of paper to say i had recieved my phone. i asked for a copy of this to have a read, also asked if i could speak to someone as i am not particularly impressed that it has taken someone this amount of time to decide my handset cant be fixed. well, the manager is off today so i will be going in t o discuss this later in the week.
got out of the shop and read the form/letter i had signed.
Quote:due to the nature.....replaced it with a similar phone that has been carefully sevrviced by our service centre. the warranty will be equal to what was remaining on your previous handset
i know i probably should of read it but i was told i just need to sign it to say i have recieved the phone.
now, i understand this to mean i have been given a re-conditioned phone. would this be correct? if so, surely i should have been told it was reconditioned and not told to sign something to confirm that i have got the phone back.

i read that to mean; Yes you do have a re-conditioned phone.
Not exactly the best customer service in the world and i feel sorry the pain you've had to suffer.
I had a couple of issues with my 950i twice and orange changed them both next without fuss and did inform that the second was a handset only and nothing new, as first was a brand new box job, thanks orange

These re-con phones are,I take it,the phones that are returned under the 14-28 day "cooling off " period. So why do they not have a full warranty?
Think its unfair the way you have been messed around.

i will most probably be taking it back to the shop on thursday (when i go in to see the manager).
this may seem a bit nit-pciky, but the power button, and ir port are slightly sunk into the top of the phone. on my first one, these were perfectly flush. but if i get a freaking £400 phone, i want it to show £400 worth of quality. i dont have the smallest fingers in the world, so in order to turn the phone on/off i have to use the stylus to press the power button. no doubt, i will be told it has to be sent away to get repaired and i will have to wait a further unknown period of time. oh the joy
