it's a catch 22, games generally are harder on joysticks than anything else, however joysticks are also a much better control device for hard core gaming. D-pads a crap for some games, and if you really like gaming you should probably sdtick with joystick based phones, even though they are gonna wear out quicker. With K750, very important to keep phone cased, this will extend joystick life considerably (since less dead skin and pocket dust can fall in to the keypad and fowl the joystick.)

when someone(friends or relatives) borrows my k750 and treat my joystick as it was an i-beam, i get damn upset. i think i'll have to carry a how-to-use-joysticks guide.

The Joystick problems I've had go back to the days of the original joystick Ericsson phone the T68 nevertheless I've sent my phones back for repairs at the shops and back as new. I could still remember how superb that phone was back in the day being the first coloured screen phone. I might try buy another one lol. Since going through about 12 Ericssons/Sony Ericssons Ive had problems with 3.
Going through T68/K700i/K750i/W800i/D750i/K608i/K800i etc.... Its a luck or unlucky thing i suppose so in my experience about 2/3 times out of 10 there would be a defective phone.

had my k750i since july 2005...
took about 9 months when i first sent my joystick in for service under warranty (was still working, however it was a bit jerky)...
then last month, it completely died on me... had to pay to fix it this time, and now its working perfectly...
as others have mentioned, excessive gaming on my part would have caused the damage to the joystick... since the last fix, i've learnt to perform most functions using number keypad only.... i never use the joystick for games too now...

se is still using the same joystick solution with t68m came with for the fist time, it was already years ago, time to change the it imo, cos the joy plays a more important rule today as in the past ( way more fone features are based on it )
