How about considering the fact that there is significant contrast between the background and foreground? If the foreground object (your GF) is in shadow the camera may try to take a night time shot complete with the usual noise. The background would then be over-exposed.

Again with your second image there is a marked contract between the refrective white surfaces, lights and signs and the interior shadows and black clothing. The blurring of the faces may be accounted for by people moving but the picture has turned out very average IMO.
I would have though a 3.2MP camera could produce a less digitised image at that size too...

You say, you press the buttom firmly, do you move the phone, while doing so ? Happens a lot, with small digicams also.

I got a K800i and i had 2 replacements but when i took it to Cyprus with me whenever i took a photo with the sea or sky in the picture that part of the picture would always look fuzzy. I think its just a general weak point of the camera. You are never going to get perfect photos from a camera phone with a tiny lens. My one has problems focasing properly with distant subjects. Nokia N73 is better for photos despite the rubbish flash.

Is it just me or what... Some pics taken with the K800i have some artifacts in it... Does K800i have a noise reduction built in? If it has... too bad coz pics taken in low lights will have this artifacts... I think the NR routine is too strong... making pics look like digitized!

Sadly the K800i does have software compression and artifact reduction which I think ruins what could be decent quality images. I think its more the compression algorithm in the phone that ruins the photos and makes the edges look kinda jaggered and 'bitty'.

Yours do seem unusually bad though! Try taking an image with BestPic™ enabled and see how they turn out.

some photos turn out blurred and with artifacts like these two, but it's mostly my fault (moving the hand and not waiting for AF to kick in). something could be wrong with the camera. the EXIF says you have one of the latest firmware so that's not to blame.

Off topic: No offense by no means, but I think the chick is hot!

Here is another shot I just took:

My hand is very steady and I waited until the phone focuses, so that's not the problem. Notice the lack of details in the cars, as well as building signs, etc. Its so blurry it almost looks like a painting lol. The noise and lack of clarity is horrible for a 3.2MP camera. And here is another photo I found on a different from that has the same problem:

If you are able to take clear pics with your K800i, could you post them for comparison?

P.S. Xan K, the chick is indeed very hot, too bad the pictures don't do her justice.....
