only thing that i agree with ya is the damn joystick. other than that, i think its a great phone.

I love my phone... by far the best. Yes i do agree with the video recording option. Wish it was a lot better. But nevertheless... i purchased the phone mainly for user friendliness, features, looks and of course photo capabilities.

Video recording is something that all of us on Esato have always complained about. I also agree with you on the keypad, that it is not that well spaced. I have a t610, k700i and the f500i and I have NEVER experienced any joystick problems. Maybe I'm a light user or just plain lucky but I know a lot of people complained about them. As for the rest I don't have a problem with the phone.

Its much better that way then having seperate message for each delivery report.

That's not a SonyEricsson K800i, it's a Vodafone K800i. Vodafone's branding for any phone model is known to be so extensive so IMHO, those are entirely different models.

Obviously, you cvannot tell who is calling if either of them calls from their (common) home number, I think it's the first one in the list, alphabetically, that will be displayed.

14) I don't quite agree. It's not an operation you do as often as making a call, for example. (menu) (down) (select) /find contact/ (more) (edit) (edit) /edit number/ (ok) (save) It's guite intuitive and straightforward even though there are a couple of keypresses and joystick operations needed.

too late i already order my k800 so it should be on its way... however i didnt experienc any of these problems in my k750, not even the joystick problem (obviously i don't mind video recording sucking a little bit) but i am sticking to SE and particularly to my k800 mainly for these 14 reasons
1) very fast and responsive OS
2) user friendliness
3) best picture quality in the market includin xenon flash
4) 3g and netfront
5) java 7 platform
6) push email
7) bluetooth stereo A2DP
Firmware updates offered free (SEUS) or paid (WOTAN)
9) pictbridge
10) 3d gaming
11) great music and video player
12) video calls
13) photo blogging
14) flight mode
plus the obvious quality/price factor
oh and let me add that in my opinion Java apps are catching up with symbian they r obviously not there yet but going there hehehe have you seen this one for instance? it allows you to have your calendar in your stand by screen!! this is just a great app

I have been a long time SE person, but previous to my K800i, I have had a V3i, and it certainly was an eye opener. Although I agree that the K800i is vastly superior to the V3i, its not a clean sweep.
In response to some of the guys questions.
1) Calendar, On my phone, although you cannot change the tone, it certainly rises with the overall ring volume.
2) SonyEriccsson PC suite itself is a basic program. Coming from the v3i, its phone manager software was vastly superior. It was not actually made by Motorola, but by BVRP. Its Synchronisation capabilities are impressing, and even allows re-mapping of phone fields to Outlook Fields (ie, phone "general" -> Outlook -> other), useful if you are also syncing your outlook to another device. It also allows item by item transfer, so you don't have to do the whole synch with outlook, and does backup/restore. It also allows to archive Text messages. Admittedly, you can get FMA or Phone Explorer to do most tasks, but the Moto had all these in the box.

4) Good point, I think it may be down to the way that Outlook only allows one per type too. However, Motorola again handles it well, and allows multiple entries for each phone type.
5) Yes, again, it would be nice to display the counter always. At least its better than the Motorola which displays the total chars remaining assuming you are doing a LONG message, so there is no way of telling whether you have exceeded the size of one text msg (or two) unless you remember the exact number of chars remaining for each point.
6) I prefer the SE way of doing things. I think it is more practical. The only reason to "keep" a delivery report is for keeping records, and saving the status on the sent message is better. However, not being able to receive Delivery Reports on multiple recipient messages is a DRAG. (Motorola does that well).
9) This has LITTLE to do with the fact the phone doesn't have a "video card". actually it DOES have a video card, just not a 3D accelerator. And the video "card" is actually quite good. The K800 is just not a capable video recorder, its marketed as a STILL camera phone, and does that part well (it would be called Handycam, not cybershot if it had decent video recording!). Its video playback is good though.
10) This is not a High End SLR
TO be honest, the K800i is a point and shoot at heart. allowing ISO adjustment to ISO 200, or ISO 100 in low light may cause other problems with the sensor and optics used.
I have found some issues myself on the K800, basically some stuff seem to have been removed that was there on the S700, and other previous Ericsson phoens i have had.
Where the hell is the Minute minder??????? I want that!
Where is the Calling Card menu? That was really useful.
Why cant we assign ring tones/message tones per profile any more?????? The tone i would like to use in office mode, is going to be VERY different to the one i use in "outdoor". Having to change profile... then change ringtone.. then also change message tone.. is a REAL Drag...
Cant we have a 3g only mode as well as a 2G/3G and 2G only modes?
When recording a video for MMS.. why cant we use the front camera?
