Really don't know what I'll do with so much space !!! I've a 4GB with some apps installed, around 200 MP3 songs, 2 full movies (9 parts of around 25mins each), tones of pics,.... and I still have 2.5GB free space on my card.
I'll think about that 8GB maybe after installing TomTom 6.

TomTom was the reason I went with 4 GB. I have NorthAmerica maps, and that takes 1.5 GB. I also have 2 more maps that take another 250 MB.
Al in all, with songs, pix, and apps I have left around 500 MB...Still plenty though.

Since I use my P990 to listen to MP3s (works good enough for me, way better than my old 64MB Thomson Lyra), and I hate choosing what songs to load on it I'm planning to get an 8GB card when they get a bit cheaper (got a crammed full 1GB now). My music collection is about 6.5GB (and growing, with a rate of less than 500MB a year), so I will be able to fit all my music on it and still leave room for other stuff like movies.

does it matter of it`s a high speed version or not?

no it doesn't matter, but (although I haven't actually seen in written in the white paper or anywhere else official) it is said that the P990 only has the serial interface for memory sticks (like the P910 before it) and so does not get the extra speed advantage from the high speed memory sticks
