I seriously doubt that the M600i will be debranded. Sim free maybe, but debranded no.
Take which ever offer works out best financially for you, and if you want an unbranded W950i do what everyone else is doing.

Take the half price line rental and then do what others have said (and i personally have done) and debrand your p990. Its fantastic with the new firmware

why are you trying to get voda to debrand your phone?

i want it debranded so that i can use seus and update the firmware, thus fixing some of the problems with the phone. reason i am wanting voda to do it/authorise SE to do it is so that my warranty isnt affected.

i flashed my k750 with the w800 firmware about 2 weeks after i got the phone. then when i had problems with it a few months later i wasnt able to get it fixed on my insurance, and had to fork out to have the phone fixed.

debrand it £4

if phone needs service

Rebrand it £4

i doubt if vodafone were to debrand your phone they could do it for less than £8

@dngrousmouse, to be honest mate. Our repair center most likely won't notice it if its debranded. I sent also sent my K750 away for repair debranded by myself and they still repaired it without any notice

Even if we decided to debrand your handset, which I highly doubt we will, the repair center if they noticed wouldn't repair it and just send it back to the store. You would then need to convince/explain the situation to try and get it resolved.

If I was you and had the knowledge I have, I'd take the 6 months half price line rental and debrand it using KK

i appreciate the advise, and particularly the first hand advise from you sainty, but i think i will just hold out for SE to get back in touch. i asked them if a written approval from voda to debrand my phone would be sufficient for them to do it. i have managed to get unlock codes for my handset from the voda shop for free (usually £20) already though, so i am hoping this will come through for me.

if not, then i will just pay the £4 (like many, many others)

Your P990 should have been unlocked already?!?! I have never seen ONE P990 Vodafone handset that is locked!
