Thanx a lot guyz...but only 1 of u act answered the 8 questions i asked...i am still a lil unsure about the camera and the mp3 player...can someone share their thots on tht? Also no1 told me whether the apps r easily n more importantly freely available or not?

Having debranded it and updated the firmware its a different phone. It does exactly what it should now, bar syncing with hotmail live which I can live without.
For a tenner, I've no regrets. But if you do get a contract branded P990, you'll probably need to debrand it and update the firmware to get it to work properly.

P990 is a fantastic all in one device. What I do with mine is amazing both in business and pleasure segment. Camera is fantastic in daylight conditions and average to good otherwise. I can send you some of the pictures to see yourself. I use to hardcopy them and nobody notice that shots were made by phone.
Media player is excellent for me, screen brilliant, qwerty so practical, wifi must have, usb mass storage time saving. I have now quite a few applications, some are free but most are not. Those apps really make my phone smart, from call and message automatic handle, loan, cash flow and other finance calculation, e-books with so pleasent reading on this screen, dictionaries, flight schedule, weather forecast, zip and rar easily handle, etc, etc.
Believe me it is worth every cent specially now when the price is significantly lower.

Heya guys, I had the exact problem for around 5 months, I finally made up my mind, after being a real SE fan, BTW I also had a W900, I realised through the many reviews that the P990 is usually given a negative feedback when it is reviewed by people who have previously owned fones from the P-series. however as far as multimedia is concerned the p990 has aced most of the other phones, according to most of the reviews the p990 has excellent multimedia quality, partially because of its screen i ges. Also most of the negative reviews are based on software/firmware issues, which I am hoping SE would address and sort out in the new firmware version that they release, from its release it has improved much through these firmware versions however I hope SE continues their trend. The only reason I went for the P990 was probably because of it's Wifi capability, there arent many smartphones that have a touchscreen and wifi, most of them are windows mobile, but im sorta addicted to SE. So I just placed an order for a P990 2 days ago, It should reach me by late this week or early next week, and then I would find out for myself. So basically my opinion is: If u are a die hard SE fan, either get the P990, or wait (would be a long wait) for the next upcoming smartphone from SE.

After 7 months since I own this phone I find myself looking for something new. Don't get me wrong. My P990 does not crash since a while ago. It does exactly what is supposed to do and more. But, it's 7 months old.......
If one like top of the line gadgets, one will dump the P990 in a blink of an eye if a better option will be there. But obviously there is few, if none alternatives. Yeah, I heard N95 is out soon. iPhone is out soon. so what. These are not here YET.
If you have not made you mind yet, do not buy it. Simple as that. Maybe this phone is not for you.

Socritoru ur rite man....even im tht sort....juz 3 months ago, on these same forums i was askin around abt whether i shud go ahead n sell my K750 to buy a W900 or not...eheh....n i wz soo excited abt tht phone n look at me now...cant wait to get rid of it n get a P990 instead..lolz...i ges thts what these corporations like SE have made us users...every time they come out wid a new model they make us believe that its the best there ever was...n when we spend our hard earned cash to buy it...they come up wid another one wid the same claim...but newayz i love buyin new phs as long as they r SE...
Mobile Modman ur rite abt SE addiction...u know a lot of my friends who use Noka say to me how cud u use SE when nokia has more features n all etc....but i gess they wudnt know unless they act use 1 SE phone themeslves...u kno i got my 1st mob 3 yrs ago...iv changed 8 since then n 7 of them hv been SE...the only bad experience i had was when i bought a Samsung ph n i juz cudnt get 2 love it...SE rulex

On second thot Koto the pix r OK...not tht gr8 quality as i can see some noise n imperfections esp in indoor pix...however the outdoor ones r really good...so mixed performance really...but i can bear with these results considering the features tht P990 has...
