There are a couple of tricks you can use.. but to mention just one here ...
1.plug an Rj45 ethernet lead into the PC network card (assum it has one)
2. wrap the Rj45 lead around you mobile phone (usally manage about 4/5 times due to size of cable and phone.)
3. Thats it !
The WiFi signal picked up on PC should now be better..
Try it it really works !

Yes, RJ45 is an Ethernet lead.
