I donno why, but I am quite happy with the current P and don't see the need for upgradation except for these (thinking worldwide):
HSPDA QUAD EDGE
and a GPS receiver would b a great bonus.
and tht's all

@Midi_Amp

Unfortunately your assumption is incorrect it is not possible via a 3rd party app to add 30fps Video as this is hardware dependent. The reason why the N93 has it and the P990 does not is down to the Power VR MBX graphics chip with only the Lite version of this chip in the P990 unlike the full version in the N93.

@chamak unlike you most users seem to feel that whilst the P990's spec was class leading when announced by the time of it's severely delayed launch it was already behind in terms of the technology being used. Hopefully the next generation of devices with have more powerful processors and as mentioned above graphics chips and not of course forgetting much more installed and free Ram.

As to the trend of fitting GPS chips in devices personally i think this is totally unnecessary and really offers very little advantage over a stand alone GPS receiver if any but this is just MO.

Personally I'd love to continue with the P-series although its current version was severely delayed and bug-ridden upon delivery. I loved the P910- my first smartphone, the only downside was its size.
What I'd like in a new P990 successor is: HSDPA, VGA screen(wishful thinking), at least 5.1mp cam and more stable firmware.

@Dogmann: Ah I see, I recalled P990 has a built in 3D image processor, so I figure why it can't record at 30fps. So the problem lies in the lite and full version as you noted. Thanks for the clarification.

Well, I have nothing more to add except that SE actually does not need put a lot more inside next P series. Just need HSDPA, slimmer body like M series, and more powerful processor. I can see the next line of smartphones from SE came with M series spearheading the market and P series being the jack of all trade. Considering that the spec of P990 at it was first announced was pretty complete, the successor might out spec any other phones out there... My 0.2 cents.
