If you are in 3G area, but you need your phone only for calls and sms, then it's reasonable to switch 3G off and use GSM only.

I just want to know if someone else has experinced this or not. Please reply if you have noticed this. While charging my p990 it reachs up to 98% mark within 1.5 hours but after that it doesn't charge up to 100% untill i plugout the charger and replug it few times. for charging from 98% to 100% it takes around 1 hour more. is this a a problem with the cell or its just a problem with the FW interface that doesn't refresh from 98% untill i replug the charges. At time i have noticed 100% charging in one go but the moment i disconect the phone from charger. the cell drops to 85%or 95% within 2 mins of use.
Please let me know if n e 1 of you have noticed this

If there is no 3G turn it off and if you don't use BT turn it off also.

3G has a big impact on battery life. I have had my phone for 8 months now. If i have 3G turned on I have to charge every day. Whit it turned off, I charge every third day. I switch on whenever I need it.

I noticed something unusual "to me - this is my first smart phone"

you do not get any sound alarm before the battery dies .. the phone just switch it self off and refuse to start again ..

I searched in the manual but could not find any thing about enabling such an alarm ..
