Part of what you have said is no surprise as it is well known that Symbian 9.1 has turned out to be more Ram hungry the previous versions on all devices. I find your experience with your sisters N73 and N93 strange but it is possible. My N93 on boot up has over 22mb Ram free and after running and closing apps never has less than 19mb free even after days. I do use Handy Taskman to close apps i am no longer using and to free Ram as Symbian 9.1 require this to be done for efficient use. The difference is the P990 only starts with approx 18mb Ram of the same 64mb available and unlike the N93 even using SwissMan Pro level 3 reclaim appears to settle at about 16mb and then proceeds to leak more Ram over a period of time require a reboot to reclaim it.

Nokia on the first firmware increased Ram from 18mb approx to 23.2mb and it also doesn't suffer from the same level of memory leaks as the P990 either this is a fact. The P990 with 4 or 5 firmware upgrades has still only 18mb of Ram and it continues to leak. Nokia on the 2 firmware update resolved the remaining issues and drastically increased the speed of the UI cold start takes just 22seconds to the a little over a minute of the P990. Lastly Nokia have released a change log prior to each firmware. So that there users could see what had been addressed, SE have said nothing. The only real complaint that some have with the N93 is that low light pictures are not as good as they could be or as the N73. Personally i didnt buy my device for a camera alone and it does what i need and want really well. Again everyone is free to choose which device they prefer or want for there own reasons there really is no wrong choice for each individual. But those that are unhappy with their P990's seem to be larger in number than those that are happy. Along with the fact of just how much the value of this device has dropped can not be taken as a good sign. To deny there are problems with it even after all the firmwares makes no sense just look on SE Dev's Forum and see the 18 point list of things people who are happy with there P990's still feel needs to be resolved for the best indication of the remaining issues.

How much ram does the p990 heve compared to the n95?

Also how are the processors compared? I know the n95 uses a ti 2020 or IS IT 2040.

Very true, I do the same but after a day or two memory leak do its job very nicely so forget about those 10 tasks, specially if one of it is opera. But I also usually dont need more than 4-5 tasks at the moment so I ignore memory leak and restart the phone only once in a week. But I cant say it is good, actually it is a bad thing, a true limitation, because as adnhk said we remember what P910 could do so why P990 shouldnt do the same. Fortunately P990 features are so good and in my case behave almost perfectly (opera needs further optimisation) so I can aford muself to ignore that limitation.

They all have the same 64mb of Ram at least until the E90 which will have 128mb Ram.

All these N series Nokia's use the same Texas Instruments OMAP 2420 @ 330mhz along with the PowerVR MBX 2D/3D graphics accelerator. As opposed to the P990's 208mhz processor and Lite version of the graphics chip.

I guess this is going a bit off topic but doesn't the K800 have a 210 MHz processor? How can it have a faster processor than a P990?
