Sl45 is definitely the first mp3 phone but as this is a site to praise e/// and se. E/// is the first with the idea to let user have mp3 on ones phone thru a dongle. I used to have one...and if not sony come into the picture. Maybe mmc is the preferred media i remember it was meant for t28 but i used it with my t39. E/// also first in getting a radio kit in 1999. I tried to use it on t610 but it just having problem...so i gave it up. Siemens also first in getting a slider and 4 color lcd disp s25.

5510 was announced end of 2001......6months after the Sony MZ5(not Z5M), and over a year after the SL45(I think the SL45i was out by then).......
.....and Max, do you really have a T610 that plays mp3s???? Because NONE of mine(currently 2, and a T630) do!
Sorry, I had a memory fog there. It was my Motorola V525 that played mp3 (it had only 5MB memory)
And I had a Nokia 5510 also, and yes they play music, but in locked AAC format. But with 64MB you could fit a reasonable collection of AAC files (that could only be ripped with the Nokia Audio Manager that came with the phone).
Was Samsung M100 before the 5510?
