It won't take long before

overrules samsung on the world market. samsung's share is dropping and se's is rising like never before. Eventually i think they are going to get bigger than moto, too. but it'll take time. you have to remember that

is a relatively new manufactor compared to nokia and motorola.

I'm so sure that by this year end SE WILL be number 3 in the world. Motorola is strongest in the US but that doesn't mean it is that strong elsewhere. I think Moto will be SE's next target next year. Don't get me wrong, nokia is a different proposition compared to the above 2 but they can and will be taken on even though it will take a while.

Still, nokia is hard to beat internationally...

True, but who would've thought that 5 years after the merger SE would topple nokia in the UK let alone Taiwan?

But nokia has become a household affair the world over... SE phones have a limited target audience... Nokia ain't such...

as if taiwan is a big market for mobile phones? it's impossible to topple moto in the usa like it's impossible to topple nokia in finland. love & buy your own products. correct me if i'm wrong, i once read in an article that samsung is no. 1 in europe. is that true?

samsung nr1 in europe? never. lol we aint that stupid.
SE is trying as hard as they can without risking to much (chickens from sony corp) while the other company's are taking it easy. only nokia is trying hard to get extra factories and to lauch new phones, aimed at the niche market, which doesn't give that much sales, but every extra phone sold is an extra phone sold.
SE is focusing on the mid level market this year, while they are preparing many UIQ phones to compete with the N series in 2008.
i'm sure SE will beat samsung by Q4, but i'm not sure if SE could take over moto in 2008.
one thing is for sure, 2008 will be a much beter year with new stuff then 2007.
