i've seen it tooo the first day when i switched off the phone,although the phone wasn't brand new(only 4 hours old i mean,and i'd used camera if you think this cover is only on the really new phone)..seeing it made me concern(you know),i turned the phone on again,no more....
after tests look what i've found: interesting

this is nor a protective cover niether anything you may think,guess what does it do???
it's a shutter,when you take a picture using flash,it shuts very very soon after the picture is taken...preventing extra light to enter the lens and having an over-lightened picture...(honestly i think,since there is no other reason,if it's not clear,try it for yourself)look carefully at the lens while taking a picture with flash enabled(cover xenon flash to avoid being blind ofcourse ),the stuff shuts.

but the question here is,why the shutter remain permanently still shut sometimes????????

this feature is cool indeed,nah??never seen this feature in any reviews around.have you? i think i'm expert enought now to write a K800 review :> . c'mon,encourage me buddies...

btw,no idea what else it could be,hmm.

it is definitely a shutter as i also have gotten it after dropping the phone, u can tell its a shutter because it is two different halves and a line going across

yes it is a preety cool shutter but i only saw it when the phone was brand new and after i got it back from service ...

i really don't know how it activates its self or when it does

i had the same situation before, you will need to open the back housing, and take out the plastic lense cover (carefully remove the lense cover, it has some sticky stuff on it's back that's how it keep stay with the camera unit, and make sure u don't strach it, i was use those watch repair screw driver to remove it out) then manually reset the shutter then put every thing back. it only took me like 5 mins, a easy fix, nothing to worry about.

I've realised that I have damaged my inner shutter as i crushed my k800 by accident but because there was no damage externally i did not notice the internall shutter damage until today when the black inner shutter cover did not open..

it turns out the shutter is broken in like 3 pieces cracked but thats from what i remember. how will this affect my pics taken as well as the future use of the camera on the phone?

i crushed it like 2 months ago and did not notice any problems.. i know when you use flash the shutter opens and closes after the flash.. if my inner shutter is cracked what are the future implications of it??
