It seems that the following tip doesn't work anymore with the latest f/w:

"If you want your videocam to make better focused video, first turn photo-camera on and adjust the auto-focus by the first push of camera button. Then just turn on video mode and you will get straight focused picture of the thing you want to make video of"

can somebody try it?

When setting the volume for the alarm, i tested it to see how loud it was, the setting i had it on would wake me up very easy, but when the alarm do go off its a different story.

I only woke up today cause the phone was vibrating on the desk, the alarm sound i could hardly hear.

i recently updated my p990, believing that it would improve the system, it just turned out to be a nightmare

previous problem of too many and so frequent restarts and with the new firmware it has made my phone useless

now
it does restart once the operator logo appears
if i get lucky to enter the "more" options, horizontal lines flock the screen and as soon as i browse through...
little few minutes it hangs

huhuhu.... don't know what to do anymore

leother - perform a master reset (or preferably format the internal disk using the service menu) and reflash it using SEUS. The symptoms you describe are common with a bad flash, and shouldn't be present in any phone running current (or even vaguely recent) firmware.

Make sure you've installed the latest version of the PC Suite also.

If symptoms persist after the reflash, you may need to clear out SEUS's database files before trying again; it's probably trying to reapply the same corrupted version of the firmware without downloading a new copy.

@leother
Are you using the most current SEUS and PC suite versions? Because aside from your case, I haven't heard of a flash-gone-bad incident happening, so I'm guessing you don't have the latest versions. If you do and it still happens, try switching to another computer for the update.

That aside, new bug found in sounds & alert - the 'tone' and 'click' options for keypad flip don't work

Tip: I had the same low sound issue with the alarm until I used handy clock's alarm. It's simply as lound as the previous alarms or even louder ;) Try it

has anyone else noticed that, while using the e-mail app, if ur 'show connection dialog' is on and u choose the group account whc u would like to use for the connection, it always shows 'connecting via INTERNET, regardless of whc group u have chosen.

yes, it does connect using the group u have chosen and does send + rcv successfully, but during the connection progress it always shows the name of the default group account,'Internet'.

weird..

Another bug that's been around and went unnoticed by many since 3 firmware updates ago would be capitalization with multitap. When you press the * key in the middle of a sentence to get an auto cap letter, the small cap indicator on the upper side would show 'Aa' (auto cap on) but quickly switches back to 'a' (lower case) so you have to press * again to get the auto capitalization again. It's arritating that you have to press * twice but spaced out because if you press twice in fast succession you're gonna get 'A' (capital).

Just another thing I'd like to mention since we're on this subject, you have to wait 2 full seconds after a fullstop for auto cap or you're just gonna get a lower case letter.

Hope the next fw would finally address these hiccups

Strange, mine does not switch back from 'Aa' to lowercase, if I wait.. It stays in uppercase until I have typed a letter. Regarding the 2-second delay, I would say it's normal. The reason is that the autocap script needs to recognize the combination of 'dot' plus 'space' (not 'dot' only) in order to 'realize' that ur sentence is finished.

1. has anyone found or heard of a solution for the alarm bug apart from using handy clock (which i don't have)
2. how can i stop the calendar alarm sound repeating? i just want it to sound once and not keep ringing until i stop it... is this possible?
3. is it normal that when the phone is in silent mode, i can't hear music or film soundtracks or the wake up alarm... normally silent mode just respects phone calls, and calendar alarm settings etc... is this treated differently on the p990i?

many thanks for your help and tips..
